What is BODI (Beachbody On Demand Interactive)?

WHAT IS BODI?

Beachbody on Demand Interactive, or BODi for short, is an optional add-on to Beachbody on Demand and includes virtual group exercise classes for all fitness levels! BODi’s streaming platform turns your living room into the world’s most exciting home gym, where you can tap into the energy and accountability of live and on-demand studio classes on your own schedule. Members will be able to pick from cardio, HIIT, bootcamp, pilates, barre, core, yoga, and live indoor cycling classes, as well as meal prep classes and nutrition programs. Each is individually designed and is accompanied by original hit tracks from your favorite artists to keep you moving to the beat.
HOW IS BODI DIFFERENT THAN BOD?

BODI a little different than regular Beachbody On Demand, so I wanted to dive into some of the details!

What is Beachbody On Demand? Beachbody On Demand (BOD) is an online streaming service that allows you to stream P90X, Insanity, 21 Day Fix, 80 Day Obsession, FOCUS T25, LIIFT4, Barre Blend, and hundreds of other world famous Beachbody workouts. It’s the “Netflix for workouts”! You can stream the workouts anywhere with a Wi-Fi connection. Some users prefer to stream on their smart TVs at home, some on their laptop or tablet, and others on their phone at the gym as they listen to the cueing via wireless headphones. Inside BOD, in addition to just the workouts, you will find the program nutrition guides, workout calendars, and Beachbody On Demand exclusives like Autumn Calabrese’s cooking show, Fixate, that teaches you how to make eating healthy delicious.

BOD is also where Beachbody launches NEW programs when they come out. When we launch programs on Beachbody On Demand, it works basically the same way as when a movie launches in the theaters. If you want to be one of our first customers to try the program, you can purchase VIP EARLY ACCESS, which is a little extra than your normal BOD membership, and then you can do the program early. For programs that clients are really excited about, this is a great option. Also, now you can take advantage of our Preferred Customer option and get access at the same time I do as well as get a discount on all products! Up until this point, for the most part Beachbody has launched full workouts programs. Our Super Trainers (Tony Horton, Shaun T, Autumn Calabrese, etc.) have created programs that range anywhere from 21 days long to 3 months long which allow you to pick the program that best suits your goals, similar to hiring a personal trainer at a much reduced cost!

This is when we get into the MAIN DIFFERENCE between Beachbody On Demand and BODi!  BODi is our brand-new premium-level service that streams LIVE workouts straight from the studio in Los Angelos. Instead of waiting for an entire program to launch from our Super Trainers, we can now hop in and attend one of their LIVE classes. If you’re not able to make it for the exact time of the class, that’s no problem either. You can just catch the replay.

WHAT’S INCLUDED??

6 LIVE DAILY CLASSSES, Monday-Friday
Trainers include Autumn Calabrese, Shaun T, Jericho McMatthews, Joel Freeman, Megan Davies, Jennifer Jacobs, Idalis Velazquez, Elise Joan, and Amoila Cesar!

ON DEMAND

Classes you can do anytime! Including Indoor Cycling!

MUSIC!

Each class is curated to hit music from popular artists
BODcast: Be one of the first 100 to share your video to be featured on-screen behind the trainer and get a possible shout-out
There will also be LIVE nutrition workshops too!
You will also have 2B Mindset and Portion Fix to choose from, as well as new meal plans and recipes every month, plus expert advice and a supportive community to help you stay motivated!

There is NEW content being created all the time on BODi, versus just during a program launch like it is on BOD, and so for that reason, the membership costs a little bit more. The cost for BODi is $19.95 a month (you must have a basic BOD membership to have BODi). I love that for less than $20 a month I have unlimited access to hundreds of LIVE and on demand classes with music playlists. It really makes that group fitness class vibe come out!

Here’s a quick video so you can get a feel for it!

DID YOU SAY INDOOR CYCLING?!
Yes! BODi cycling classes will be an immersive cycling experience full of energy using the MYX 2.0 bike which just came out. I have always wanted to do indoor cycling and now I can do it easily at home! The bike’s touchscreen allows you to stream your workout and integrates your heart rate monitor to maximize your training!
Jennifer Jacobs, a former Senior Peloton Instructor, is also joining as the newest Super Trainer!! Her new program, JOB1, will incorporate the MYX bike, as well as, live classes, and it will be available in December. Jennifer is also fluent in English and French, and she’ll be creating workouts in both languages!

WHO IS BODI FOR?
If you’ve ever wanted to just enjoy a workout without committing to a full program, you’re going to love BODi! We feel like this will be perfect for people who love Orange Theory, CrossFit, or Barry’s Bootcamp because they can add in classes in a similar way!
It’s also taking accountability and proper form to a whole new level because of BODcast!

HOW DO THE TRAINERS “SEE” ME?
If you join a live class, you can share your video feed from your phone as you workout through the “BODcast” feature! This is optional, but it’s a way to see your friends working out and possibly get shout-outs from the trainers!
BODcast uses your phone’s camera (if you choose) to broadcast your workout to other exercisers — creating the ultimate virtual gym experience! If you’ve tried Muscle Burns Fat, we expect the set up to be similar but even better because it’ll be in real-time!

HOW DO I ACCESS BODI?
If have a Beachbody on Demand membership you easily can add on a BODi membership. If you need BOD and BODi you can get a total solutions pack (which is the most cost-effective option) or a combined BOD/BODi membership.
Let’s get healthy together! Contact me to get info in my monthly accountability groups and how to get start with BOD/BODi.

ROASTED RED PEPPER & SWEET POTATO BISQUE | HEALTHY SOUP RECIPE

Roasted Red Pepper and Sweet Potato Bisque

I have done a few rounds the 21 Day Ultimate Reset over the last few years and one recipe I always look forward to is the roasted red pepper and sweet potato bisque! It has become a staple in our house and especially great in the Fall. Nothing better than curling up with a hot filling soup!
Some of the recipe appears a little complex – the roasting process for example had you charring the red peppers and then soaking in water and peeling off the char. I have gotten into the habit of just cooking them in the oven and deseeding them (not removing the skin). I have also not used the miso paste as can be hard to find. It has always blended it up well and tastes Amazing!

Roasted Red Pepper and Sweet Potato Bisque (2 servings)
Ingredients

  • 2 Sweet Potato, Medium Size
  • 1/2 Red Bell Pepper
  • 2 Cups Vegetable Broth
  • 2 Tsp Grated Peeled Ginger Root
  • 1 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 4 Tsp Miso Paste, Diluted in hot water (1/4 cup appx)
  • Bragg’s Liquid Aminos or Himalayan Sea Salt, to taste

Roasted Red Pepper and Sweet Potato Bisque Cooking Directions:
Peel the sweet potato and cut them into approximately 1″ cubes. Boil the sweet potato on the stove in water for 5 – 7 minutes, until fork tender, and strain and set aside.
Slice the bell pepper into 1/4 slices and flatten as best you can, then roast the bell pepper until it is charred – you can do this a few ways, the best is on a grill on high heat. You can also put it in the oven at 400 degrees for 15 – 20 minutes (keep an eye on it). I just put it skin-side down on a frying pan on medium-high heat for about 7 minutes, pressing it into the pan with a spatula to help char it.

Chop the pepper into 1″ size squares as well and set aside.
Peel the ginger and grate out 2 tsp. (can also use ground ginger)
Combine the sweet potato, the roasted pepper, vegetable broth (you can substitute water), ginger, oil, and miso paste blend into a food processor or blender. The bisque should be thick, but if it is too thick you can add some extra water or broth.
Pour back into pot on stove and heat on low, adding in salt or liquid aminos to taste. I have a Vitamix so do everything in it (it heats the soup).
Enjoy! Let me know how it came out for you.

5 Tips to Make a Healthy Lifestyle Change

You have decided to make your health a priority. You have great intentions, but just cannot seem to get started. I hear this all the time from my challengers as we discuss their goals. Unfortunately, good intensions do not lead to actual changes! The reasons you can’t start or stick to a major lifestyle change most likely stems from one of the following: Change is uncomfortable, You are afraid to fail, You do not have time, You are overwhelmed, You do not know how to get started… Am I right?

5 Steps to Minimizing Excuses

1. Recognizing your Desire to change

The fact you have decided that a change is needed is more powerful than you think. Give yourself kudos for making this decision. Now expand on this desire and define your WHY. What is something important you are willing to fight for when it comes to your health, and why?

Losing weight or getting healthy is not specific enough. However, losing fifteen pounds to get off blood pressure medications, fit into a dress for an upcoming event, or being able to keep up with your kids, is. Find the real reason you want to make a change and you’ll get motivated quickly.

2. Setting the Stage

Now it’s time to set aside a small block of time to start your transformation. Scheduling is KEY as if its not on your scheduled it is easy to not get done. Also, this time needs to be NON-NEOGIABLE. Even if you start with 5 minutes, it’s a START. Your health should be a PRIORITY. You cannot be there for others if you are not there for yourself. I am talking to you, my fellow moms! I am a mom of newborn currently and it has been HARD to find time to get my workouts in, but I have been able to carve out 30 minutes while she sleeps even if it means I drag my weight upstairs so I can keep an eye on her. One of the reasons I love at home workout!

3. Find a Support System

Whether it’s your friends, family, coworkers, recruit a few people to cheer you on after successes and hold you accountable for setbacks. This is psychologically proven to help you reach success. I love this as I am a science nerd. One of the reasons I was successful when I started P90X was that I had a free Coach and an online support group. When I have trained for running events, having a running buddy has really helped get me out the door especially on cold Denver mornings!

4. Track your Progress and Reward Yourself

Keep a journal (paper or note on your phone). Log into an app like Challenge Tracker (which I use for my challengers) or my fitness pal and keep an honest journal of your accomplishments and setbacks. Setbacks are learning opportunities! You will learn and grow. Just do NOT give up. Remind yourself of your WHY and restart. We all have off days, weeks etc. True change comes from being CONSISTENT!

Rewarding yourself for achievements makes all your hard work and effort feel worthwhile. However, make it something useful lie a new workout outfit, a new book or a massage vs indulging in some junk food.

6. Take Action

This is the hardest part but of course the most important! Make a plan – find a local gym, a running group, or come join my accountability group 🙂 Tell your support system of your intentions and have them hold you accountable. Get the junk food OUT of the house and stock up with healthy options. One easy step is to start drinking more water each day. Get a fun water bottle and make it a game to see how many times you can fill it up!

Remember you are WORTH this change. No matter the struggles, you CAN get through this. Your health is the best gift you can give yourself and others. I BELIEVE in you!
